Turmeric (ขมิ้นชัน)
Curcuma longa
A rhizome herb grown widely across Thailand, valued for its curcuminoid content. Long used in Thai traditional medicine and cooking, and now the subject of standardized extraction work at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University.
Research overview
Studied for anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. Standardized curcuminoid extracts are used in supplement and topical formulations.
